It’s been awhile since i uploaded a song. This is the newest song that i composed. For this song, i decided to try using a synth for once and i am happy with the results. I tested out the strings with a hip-hop beat and i believe i will be using it more in future projects because i liked the sound it made in this composition. Unfortunately, i cut the verses with the strings very short so it may sound messy alternating with the synths. Anyway, it took a lot of time and effort to compose this song even though it is only a minute long. I had to constantly experiment so i could find what fit and what did not fit. I hope all of you enjoy it!

Microphones

Normally i post video and music projects that i have done in Music technology. But today i’m switching things up and going to talk about the little thing that singers speak into, the microphone. The microphone revolutionized everyones perception of hearing as it allows a speaker to increase the volume of their voice by tenfold. Shure has been the leading company in the microphone industry as they produce the most quality and exquisite microphones. They are known for their reknown SM-57 and SM-58 models, dynamic microphones. The SM-57 is known for it’s pure quality for people with very soft voices, while the SM-58 is meant for people with a deep and heavy voice. Both microphones must be accompanied by a pop filter. A pop filter is used to create a more genuine and clean sound when someone sings into the microphone. It reveals the true vocal strength of a singer without any irritating sounds created in the process. Microphones are versatile and easy to use if you know how to use it.

This is a video of the Raven i made in Music Technology. Enjoy.

What’s up guys, this is a new project i have worked on in Music Technology. We were given an audio track and we were suppose to mix and edit it to make it sound as best as possible. The voice of the singer is autotuned, as much as i dislike autotune, i had to work with it =P. I hope you guys enjoy.

This is the first composition i ever made using Garageband when i first started taking Music Technology last year. I like the sounds of trumpets with a hiphop kind of beat, it creates a very strong and victorious feel, so i incorporated it in this song. Enjoy.

Starting a new year

I started taking Music Technology as an elective at River Hill High School when i was a junior. Now that it is a new year, i think it is time to reflect on how i am going to get back to where i left off last year. Using Pro Tools was difficult at first, but with the help of Mr. McCready, it has started to become like a second nature. After a 2 months hiatus from Music Tech, i still remember what i knew about Pro Tools and found no difficulty using it. I will continue to strive for a more complex, professional, and original approach to Pro Tools as it is still a learning process.

This is just a little video project i worked on in my Music Tech class. This is a 1950 horror commercial that was apparently scary at the time. But obviously it isn’t scary at all from our viewpoint today. I used the visuals to create a humorous feel to it. Hope you enjoy.
